Reports suggest that the deal taking Alexander Isak to Liverpool FC is now complete
The Swedish striker is expected to arrive on Merseyside for his medical immediately after tonight’s clash between Liverpool and Newcastle.
While official confirmation is still pending, it's understood that all parties have reached an agreement, and the player is set to join Arne Slot’s squad before the end of the window.
It’s believed that negotiations, which have been ongoing in recent weeks, accelerated over the weekend. While no official statement has been made by either club, sources close to the situation claim that all major terms have been agreed, with only formalities and a medical remaining before the move is announced.
Isak, 25, has been a standout performer for Newcastle since his arrival from Real Sociedad, quickly establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s most lethal forwards.
Having outclassed former Liverpool no9 Darwin Nunez in goals last season the Newcastle forward caught the eye of the Premier League champions. His eye for goal have made him a top target for the Reds to fill in the No9 positiion as they look to reinforce their attacking option following the departure of Nunez, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota's demise. Isak scored a total of 26 Premier League goals last season only trailing Liverpool's goal-machine Mohamed Salah by 3.
Should all go as planned, the club is expected to announce the signing within the next 24 to 48 hours. The move would likely be one of the biggest of the summer window and could reshape the attacking hierarchy at Anfield heading into the new season.
