Daniel Sturidge is back in training

The injured striker returned to training following his last injury absence.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is back in training this week ahead of Saturday’s match against Everton and he could be in contention to make the bench for the first time since the club’s 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on February 11th.

This is good news for the player, who fell ill during Liverpool’s La Manga camp in February and then injured his hip during his rehabilitation from the illness and has been out since. There had even been fears he could miss the entire remainder of the season.
That now appears to be unlikely, and the injury to Adam Lallana along with the ongoing concerns over the status of Jordan Henderson could at least make room for Sturridge on the bench, both against Everton on Saturday and in the coming weeks.
Unfortunately, it’s unlikely to change Sturridge’s longer term prospects at the club, with the striker still expected to be sold over the summer and Jürgen Klopp preferring Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi as his striking options in the meantime.
Meanwhile, despite concerns related to their long trip back from international duty, both Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho took part in training today and are expected to be ready to start against Everton on Saturday.
