Southampton sign new defender - Increased possibility for the Reds to sign Van Dijk

Van Dijk has been repeatedly linked with a move away from St Mary’s with both Liverpool and Chelsea keen to secure his signature.

Southampton have confirmed the signing of centre-back Jan Bednarek from Lech Poznan and that can be a boost for Liverpool target Van Dijk to leave St mary's park this summer

However, Liverpool were forced to release an embarrassing apology and end their pursuit for the centre-half after Southampton complained to the Premier League claiming the Reds tapped up their player. 

And Chelsea are now reportedly keen to poach the Dutchman as
Antonio Conte looks to bolster the Blues as they prepare to defend their league title. 

But as Southampton confirm the signing of Polish defender Bednarek, many Liverpool and Chelsea fans have been urging the club to sell their prized asset.
