Liverpool should sell Coutinho in January - Mark Lawrenson

Mark Lawrenson wants Liverpool to cash in on Coutinho in January

Anfield Legend Mark Lawrenson think it was wrong move for Liverpool to have kept Coutinho despite a big money bid from Spanish giants Barcelona.

He also admitted  that Liverpool should let go of their No.10 this January if the Spaniards
offers anywhere near the £100million plus they wanted to pay few months ago.

He said: “Prices have gone mad and I would have sold him in the summer," he said.

A very good signin for Liverpool
"I just think if you are getting £120 million for a footballer you take it - because he could fall over tomorrow!

"They could then have got two or three players to replace him, and think he'll go possibly in January."

Lawrenson believes Liverpool can cope without Coutinho and will not retard the team.

"It won't affect the dressing room," he told the AskFans website. "Players are players and if Barcelona come for you you'd think ‘treble my wages? Yeah, why not!'”

Lawrenson also backed Klopp to deliver success for Liverpool this season

"Klopp is the right man," he claimed. "The only problem which everybody knows about is defensively they aren't great. But the players absolutely love him. He's just a proper bloke."
