Liverpool 2-1 Champions League victory over Manchester City broke a 15 year old Manchester United record.

Liverpool came from one goal down to win City 2-1 with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino being the goal scorers.

The two goals scored took Liverpool to 33 Champions League goals this season, six more than the already eliminated Paris Saint-Germain.

The number also breaks the record for most goals scored in a single campaign - previously held by Manchester United.

Manchester United scored 32 in the 2002/03 season, when they were knocked out in the Champions League by Real Madrid at the quarter-final stage.

Liverpool have also broken United's tally in four less outings, doing so in 10 appearances.

Jurgen Klopp's side will now have at least two more games to further their record. Liverpool will found out their semi-final opponents on Friday.
