Steven Gerrard eyeing loan move for Liverpool star

The new Rangers manager and former Liverpool skipper want to add teenage forward Ben Woodburn to his side

Woodburn, 18, has been described as one of the most promising young talents in the Premier League.

Despite the lack of play-time the Welsh youngstar has made some impressive outings in few appearances for the Reds and has already won seven caps for Wales, scoring once.

The 18-year-old is Liverpool’s youngest-ever goalscorer defeating the trademark once held by Michael Owen, and Gerrard is eager to give him a regular taste of first-team football in Glasgow.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has already told Steven Gerrard he would assist him where he could with possible loan players.

Woodburn is one of a number of Anfield players that Gerrard would be keen to bring to Ibrox for the new season.

Two other potential options in Anfield are Welsh international Harry Wilson, who spent last season at Hull City, and fellow 21-year-old winger Ryan Kent.
