Red fans couldn't hide their frustration after Liverpool missed out on the chance to put themselves seven points clear from Manchester City at top of the Premier League table.

The Citizen had lost to Newcastle in the previous night, leaving the Reds with the advantage to take all three points at home against Leicester and extend their lead at the top to three games defeat clear.

But Jurgen Klopp's men managed a 1-1 draw at front of the Kop and Virgil van Dijk who sensed the fans reaction towards the players has urged them to stay calm to avoid further pressure on the team.

"Obviously you get that feeling from the crowd and I think it's not really necessary at the moment," van Dijk said.

"But obviously everyone wants to win so bad and that's what we want as well, but sometimes you need to be very patient.

"In the end it's all about showing on the pitch and we're not going to be affected by that.

"We want everyone to cheer us on and keep pushing even if we have tough moments, even if we're 1-0 down or maybe more. We just need everyone to pull in the same direction and keep going, that's the only way forward."
