Liverpool had to settle for a goalless draw at Old Trafford to return to the top of the Premier League table in a game which saw the Red Devils hampered by injuries in the first half.

The Sun report that Solskjaer has ripped Liverpool's tactics at his team’s pre-match briefing prior to the game.

The Norwegian is said to have claimed Liverpool have not the quality to beat Manchester City to the League title, pointing out reasons to back his claim up.

Firstly, he maintained that his Manchester United team are superior than Jurgen Klopp's side insisting the Reds can only play on the counter attack and are more effective on teams that press forward but finds it hard to break pass a defensive side.

Secondly, they depend on long curves through the flanks and fail to break down teams with a short passing game.

Finally the Norwegian lashed that Liverpool lacks any true creativity and are less effective if they don't open the scoring.

It is clear that Liverpool have largely played without a proper playmaker since Philippe Coutinho departed Anfield for Barcelona over a year ago.
