Suarez was on score sheet for Barcelona against his former club, when both side locked horns in the first leg of the Champions League semifinal at Nou Camp.

The Uruguayan played a big part in the Reds' heartbreak of a 3-0 fist-leg defeat and was seen more than once in heated exchange with players of his former loyals.

After celebrating his opener in the first leg the former Liverpool gem has vowed that he will not celebrate if he scores again in the return leg at Anfield.

"People in football know the importance of scoring a goal in the semifinal of the Champions League," he said in defence of his Camp Nou celebration.

"I have a lot of respect for Liverpool fans.

"Because I scored and celebrated with my fans I say sorry but the Liverpool fans would applaud me.

"I am very thankful to Liverpool, to the fans and the club and obviously it is clear that if I score a goal against Liverpool (at Anfield) I wont celebrate it, in the same way I didn't celebrate in Holland when I scored.

"Celebrating the goal last week, people who know about football who love this sport know about the importance of this."
