The Liverpool forward is entering the final 12 months of his current contract under the Reds and he's hopeful his Champions League heroics will earn him a new deal at the club.

Origi emerged to be Liverpool's lucky charm this season despite starting only six games in all competitions.

The 24-year-old scored in most Liverpool crucial moments this season to fire them to victory.

He scored the winning goal against Barcelona in the Champions League last four, provided key Premier League strikes against Everton and Newcastle and a crucial second goal against Tottenham in the Champions League final.

Liverpool may be considering rewarding the Belgian's improvement with an improved long-term contract this summer.

"The next few weeks we'll have to sit down and see what the future holds," Origi told Sky Sports.

"I want to speak to the club and my people internally before going public but hopefully the talks between me, the club and my people will be positive."
