Liverpool keeping tabs on Brazilian ace as possible replacement for Roberto Firmino

Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a move for Benfica striker Carlos Vincius

The 24-year-old joined Benfica from Napoli for £15.3million last summer and has set alight the Portuguese top-flight with 14 goals and seven assists so far this season.

Vincius has attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs and according to Spanish newspaper AS  the Brazilian striker has been under the Reds' watch for some time.

The AS reported that Liverpool are tracking Vinicius closely after sending scouts to watch him in Portugal on a few occasion.

The report also claimed that Vincius is being tipped as a replacement should Roberto Firmino leave Anfield in the summer.

Vinicius has an £83m release clause inserted into his Benfica contract but the Portuguese club are eager to offload him thereby reducing his price tag to £50m for potential buyers.
