Ex West Ham striker hopes Atalanta win tonight as 'Liverpool are no longer as hungry as before'

Paolo Di Canio is tipping Atalanta to get the better of Liverpool in tonight's Champions League showdown

Paolo Di Canio.

Liverpool have enjoyed big success under Klopp in the past two seasons, winning both the Champions League and Premier League.

There's been a level of progression under Klopp ever since he took charge at Anfield in 2015.

The Reds have seen a two-season limelight in their Champions League and Premier League campaign.

They went almost all through the Premier League campaign last season undefeated after wrecking Barcelona in the Champions League semi finals to win the European top-flight trophy against Tottenham in the season preceding.

Despite their indisputable form, Paolo Di Canio believe the dreaded Reds can not be the big guys to be wary of this season after a sloppy start to the 2020-21 campaign.

The former West Ham striker and Italy international told L’Eco Di Bergamo: "They've just won the league after thirty years of abstinence, which is huge for a stadium like Anfield.

"They lived through the successes of the two Manchester teams."
