Liverpool academy defender Cuba Cline has left the club after six years to join Premier League outfit Leeds United

Liverpool defender Cuba Cline has confirmed his move to Premier League rivals Leeds United.

Cline, 16, enjoyed six years at the academy but will link-up with the under-18 set-up at Elland Road.

The full-back has been capped by England at under-15 level and sent a message to Liverpool on social media while announcing his departure.

Cline wrote: "It's been a class six years at Liverpool. Thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way but it's time for me to face my new challenge at Leeds United. The hard work continues...."

Liverpool team-mates James Balagizi replied: "Good luck bro," and Isaac Mabaya said: "My brother!"

Leeds United are bottom of the Premier League North under-18 table while Liverpool sit second behind Manchester United.
