Chelsea fans are starting to feel nervous after Liverpool beat Manchester United on Thursday night

The Reds secured a 4-2 victory over their arch rivals at Old Trafford, to make the race for a top four finish in the Premier League still in their hands.

Diogo Jota opened the scoring before Roberto Firmino bagged a brace either side of half time. Mohamed Salah secured the victory with a goal in the closing moments, with those three points moving Liverpool up to fifth place.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are now four points behind Chelsea with a game in hand, and six adrift of Leicester City with those two clubs playing each other in the league next week.

Neither Chelsea or Leicester can get maximum points from their remaining games, leaving the door open for Liverpool to take advantage should they win their final three fixtures.

After Liverpool’s win at Old Trafford, Chelsea fans took to social media to express their thoughts and emotions on whether they will secure a top four finish ahead of Liverpool.

Nathan Harmer: "No, including the champions league final we have to win five games in a row. In reality it’s not going to happen. It could be Thursday night football for us."

CFC_LK: "We’ve bottled it yesterday, the only way we’re getting UCL next season now is by winning the UCL."

MBA11: "Nope. Two wins needed in two games against teams that we haven’t won against this season. Squeezed between fa cup and ucl final. Villa with fans."

CFCArjun: "Not really! Top four should have been done and dusted by now. What if we draw against Leicester next week. The only good thing we have it’s in our hands still. But surely you don't want to go into the last time needing a win to qualify for top four."

Samyak Jain: "Good while it lasted. Sad that Tuchel will probably be sacked now."

Shed End Chat: "I think it's genuinely gone. Liverpool are riding the wave now with three of the best fixtures they could ask for. We have to beat Leicester who are above us and Villa with Grealish back. Last night was awful."
