Mo Salah better than Ronaldo and Mbappe in two key areas - Robbie Savage

Mohamed Salah form this season has seen him score nine goals in as many appearances across all competitions

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has been labelled as the best player in the world by Robbie Savage.

Having scored six goals, the Egyptian forward is joint-top scorer with Leicester City's Jamie Vardy, including one in each of his last five matches.

A lot of talk around Salah this season has been about his contract situation at Anfield and whether he will sign an extension, with his current deal set to expire in 2023.

Savage has argued why, given the choice, he would rather have Salah in his team than the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain trio Lionel Messi  Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.

"Mo Salah is the best player in the world right now. Would I have him over, Messi and Ronaldo? Yes. Mbappe? Yes. Neymar? Yes," Savage told William Hill.

"For me, right now, if you are picking the team in the forward area, Mo Salah would be the first choice.

"So I would say, right now, Mo Salah is the best player in the world in terms of creativity, assists."

Salah is currently with Egypt for their World Cup qualifiers, before returning to Merseyside later in the week.

Liverpool return to Premier League action on Saturday as they travel to face top flight newcomers Watford at Vicarage Road.
