Liverpool to face Manchester United in preseason friendly

Liverpool will face Manchester United in their warm up preseason fixtures ahead of the 2022-23 season

Both Premier League heated rivals will meet at Rajamangala Stadium in Thailand's capital city Bangkok.

After a major halt to the European preseason tour last year due to the coronavirus crisis, clubs are getting set once again for the adventurous football show and the Liverpool tie with United has been scheduled for July, with the winner claiming the Bangkok Century Cup.

"Pre-season tour is a vitally important time of year for our players to prepare for the upcoming season, and it provides a fantastic opportunity to meet with fans around the world," Liverpool's commercial director, Ben Latty said.

"Since the start of the pandemic we’ve been unable to travel for pre-season and so we're extremely excited to be able to visit our supporters globally once again and compete in games like ‘The Match’.

"This trip to Bangkok will be very special and we're really looking forward to having as many of our supporters with us along the way."

The last time Liverpool played Manchester United in a preseason match, it was in front of over 100000 fans at the Michigan stadium in the USA, where the Reds ran out comfortable  4-1 winners.
