Jurgen Klopp signs new Liverpool contract

Jurgen Klopp has reportedly extended his stay at Liverpool

Much has been made of the German's Anfield future in recent months, with the Liverpool boss indicating on more than one occasion his plan to exit the club upon the expiration of his current contract in 2024.

This situation has now developed at a rapid rate, with Klopp understood to have committed his future until 2026 courtesy of a new contract.

A publication on the Daily Mirror state: Jurgen Klopp has agreed a new contract which will keep him and his key backroom staff at Liverpool until at least 2026.

The Reds manager accepted a fresh four year deal which will replace the remaining two years of his current agreement, and run until 2026, with the option left open of extending beyond that date.

It was Klopp himself who approached his owners to say he was ready to accept the open-ended offer to stay with the Anfield club, which was put on the table at the start of this campaign, and has remained ever since.

Should Klopp remain at Anfield until 2026, it take the Liverpool boss to 11 years at the club.
