Calvin Ramsay shares injury update

Liverpool newly signed defender Calvin Ramsay has shared an update on his recovery from injury

The 19-year-old's right-back will require further assessment at the AXA Training Center after his  Liverpool medical exam revealed he had an injury.

Liverpool signed Ramsay from Aberdeen for £4 million this summer. After 33 appearances in the Scottish Premiership season, the Reds were eager to have the athlete as a backup to Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Scotland native shared a photo from the gym to show his fans that he putting on the hardwork to be back to fitness. By adding a bicep emoji to his post, the young star showed his fans as he posed next to injured midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain while using an exercise bike. Both of them are currently out due to injuries.

Klopp said of the player's absence last month: "Unfortunately, Calvin is now not training with us at the moment, he has a little injury," Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com .

"Nobody knew, we found it when he did his medical check. Until today he has had no problems but the medical department tells us if we don’t take care of that now, he will have a problem in the future.

"So, when you are that young then of course he has a long career ahead of him, so we are very responsible in these moments, so he didn’t train yet with the team but is doing a lot of fitness work. So, it will not take too long I think.

"So I didn’t see him yet in training but everything we saw about him, we heard about him, I heard from him: a fantastic boy. And what a player he is, what he did for Aberdeen last year, absolutely exceptional.

"In his age group and you know the things we need from a full-back, he is as close as it gets to the things we want and is still a kid. So we really expect a lot from him in the long term."

Liverpool now looking forward to Saturday's match against Bournemouth after losing to Manchester United last week.
