Jurgen Klopp hints at Diogo Jota role next season after new contract

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has offered his reaction to Diogo Jota's contract extension

Jota flexibility could ease Darwin Nunez selection headache

Jota is currently sidelined through injury but has put pen to paper on a fresh deal to extend his stay at Anfield until 2027.

Jurgen Klopp has hinted that the player flexibility would ease selection headache for his side's attack next season. And in the ears of new signing Darwin Nunez who specially play as a centre-forward, that would be good news.

"Brilliant, brilliant news, I would say," Klopp told liverpoolfc.com .

"His qualities are obvious. He scores goals – not a bad quality – he works unbelievably hard for the team, his pressing and counter-pressing are on an unbelievable level, he can play in all of our attacking roles and he has an incredible attitude. Not a bad package. Not bad at all.

"As a striker who can play on the wing, he gives us so many options and since he came to Liverpool he has improved so much.

"I have said before that Diogo is the player we hoped he would be but also a little bit better, so long may this continue."
