Jordan Henderson called to England squad despite Liverpool injury

Henderson has been on the sidelines for the Reds since their 2-1 win against Newcastle at Anfield

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has been added to the England roster for their Nations League matches against Germany and Italy.

Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips pulled out of the England squad due to a shoulder injury and was swiftly replaced by the Liverpool skipper.

Henderson missed the last three games for Liverpool because of a hamstring problem. However, the Reds have confirmed that he's recovering well.

Henderson has capped 69 times and is looking to earn more when the tournament continues tomorrow.
