Liverpool were reportedly in for the Aston Villa midfielder as an emergency target before the summer transfer window deadline day.
But now it has been gathered that he has just signed a new deal to extend his stay with the Midlands club.
Luiz contract was due to expire next summer. A number of Premier League clubs including Arsenal had shown interest on the midfielder but have now been dealt a blow in the player's pursuit.
