There has been intense speculation about Kylian Mbappe's future - and this isn't the first time.

The Paris Saint-Germain superstar, who only signed a new contract in May, is seeking to leave the club after reports in France said he was not concerned about the transfer and his role.

The 23-year-old was linked with a number of clubs before signing a new contract.

He was deemed likely to join Real Madrid during  the summer window but PSG managed to tie him down to a remarkable deal.

Now new claims have emerged that Mbappe is seeking a new challenge.

That again has opened the door for clubs who previously thought they missed out on their chance to sign the former Monaco star. These include former leaders Real Madrid and, of course, Liverpool, who are known to be French star admirers.

Before joining Paris Saint-Germain from Monaco in 2017, Mbappe almost travelled to Anfield - L'Equipe previously claimed he had a two-hour meeting with Reds boss John W. Henry on a private jet.

They reported that in early 2017, Henry tried to win over Mbappe and his family by flying a private jet to Monaco and inviting them to board. They are said to have flown two hours in and around the Gulf of Nice as they discussed the player's future before the Reds finally missed out.
