Ibrahima Konate is hopeful over Liverpool’s push to sign Khephren Thuram (Telefoot) Ibrahima Konate says he hopes Liverpool can complete a deal to signKhephren Thuram this summer. Jurgen Klopp’s side have already begun their summer business by signing Alexis Mac Allister in a £35 million deal from Brighton last week. Klopp is keen to bolster his midfield options even further and Liverpool are currently in talks over a deal for Thuram, who is the son of the France’s World Cup winner Lilian Thuram and the younger brother of Marcus Thuram. And Konate has made is clear that he would be keen to see the 22-year-old central midfielder head to Anfield this summer. In a quickfire ‘yes or no’ interview with Telefoot, Konate was asked if Thuram will be playing for Liverpool next season, to which the defender replied: ‘Yes, I hope so.’ Liverpool have held talks to sign Khephren Thuram from Nice (Getty) Speaking to RMC Sport earlier this week, Konate described Thuram’s progression as ‘incredible’ and says he was surprised by the midfielder’s technical ability. ‘I would be very happy for him [Thuram] to come to Liverpool and I would take him under my wing and I would do everything for him to progress and become the player he wants to become,’ Konate said. I was with his big brother [Marcus] in the training centre, but I saw him grow. ‘I saw him perform and progress at a level… it was incredible. Even when he came to the France team for his first selection.
