Mohamed Salah’s agent responds to £155m Saudi Arabia offer for Liverpool star

Mohamed Salah has emerged as a target for Al-Ittihad (Picture: Getty) Mohamed Salah’s agent has dismissed speculation Liverpool could lose their talismanic forward to Saudi Arabia this summer. Salah has emerged as a target for Al-Ittihad, who are reportedly prepared to pay the Egypt international 180m euros (£155m) over a two-year deal. Al-Ittihad, who have already signed Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema and Chelsea hero N’Golo Kante this summer, are said to be ready to tempt Liverpool’s with a 60m euros (£52m) bid. But Salah’s agent insists his client ‘remains committed’ to Liverpool and would not have signed a contract extension this time last year if he was considering a move away from Anfield. ‘If we considered leaving LFC this year, we wouldn’t have renewed the contract last summer,’ Ramy Abbas Issa posted on social media. ‘Mohamed remains committed to LFC.’ The agent’s statement will come as welcome news to Liverpool fans, who will hope to see the Reds enjoy a better season in 2023-24 after finishing just fifth and failing to win any silverware last term. Despite Liverpool’s underwhelming campaign, Salah still contributed 30 goals in 51 appearances in all competitions.
