Liverpool could be without Cody Gakpo for Wednesday night’s Champions League meeting with Atlético Madrid at Anfield, after the forward missed Tuesday’s training session
Gakpo has reportedly experienced muscular tightness, with his absence understood to have been precautionary rather than the result of a significant injury. His availability is therefore still uncertain ahead of the match, and a final decision is expected closer to kick-off.
The Dutch international has made an encouraging start to the season under new head coach Andoni Iraola, registering one goal and three assists in the Reds' opening three Premier League matches.
Liverpool do, however, have attacking options available should the Dutch be unable to play tonight, with summer signing Bradley Barcola among those up for the task.
