The Brazil international suffered a serious ankle injury in the first half of their 2-0 win against Sunderland at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Coutinho has scored five times and has made five assists in 13 Premier League games this season to hoist the Reds up to second place in the table behind Chelsea.
However, the South American is set for a prolonged spell on the sidelines after suffering ankle ligament damage following a collision with Sunderland star Ibrahim Ndong.
Liverpool are the Premier League’s leading goal-scorers this term after netting an impressive 32 times in 13 games so far.

Speaking to talkSPORT about Coutinho’s injury, former Liverpool striker Rush backed Klopp’s side to survive without their number 10.
“Coutinho is a big loss, but the way we’ve been playing this year has been absolutely fantastic and it’s not just about Coutinho.
“Firmino has come good, he was absolutely fantastic on Saturday, Lallana is coming back from injury and we have a good all round squad for scoring goals.”
Liverpool are a point behind current leaders Chelsea ahead of their long trip to Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth side at the Vitality Stadium in their next Premier League game on Sunday afternoon
