Rio Ngumoha has received England call-up for the UEFA Nations League
Rio Ngumoha has been named in Thomas Tuchel’s latest England squad, with the Liverpool forward selected for the Three Lions’ opening fixtures of the 2026–27 UEFA Nations League campaign.
England confirmed their 27-man squad on Friday, with the young Liverpool winger included among the forwards alongside Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Gordon, Eberechi Eze, Morgan Rogers and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The selection comes after Ngumoha made his senior England debut during the summer. The Liverpool youngster came on in England’s friendly victory over New Zealand and became the fifth-youngest player to represent the senior Three Lions.
Ngumoha continues his international progression
Ngumoha's latest call-up follows an important period in his development at both club and international level.
The 18-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough 2025–26 campaign with Liverpool, making 29 appearances and scoring twice. His first senior Liverpool goal came in dramatic circumstances when he scored a stoppage-time winner against Newcastle United, making him the youngest goalscorer in the club's history.
He has continued to receive opportunities under Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola this season.
Ngumoha started Liverpool's Champions League opener against Atletico Madrid at Anfield on September 9, helping the Reds recover from an early deficit to win 2-1.
England's Nations League schedule
Tuchel's squad will meet at St George's Park next week before beginning a four-match international window.
England will host Spain at Wembley on September 26, before travelling to Prague to face Czechia on September 29. They will then visit Croatia on October 3, with the final game of the window coming against Czechia at Wembley on October 6.
