Joe Gomez named man of the match against Brazil

Neymar faces tough encounter in England's friendly as Liverpool star Joe Gome made him null

England drew 0-0 with Brazil on Tuesday night at Wembley and while it wasn't the most memorable of clashes for Three Lions and Selecao fans alike, it was an unforgettable night for the Reds defender.

Gomez made an impressive  display as he shone against a well mobilized Brazilian Attacking trio, the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Neymar, and his team mate Philippe Coutinho.

And according to the Daily Mail Liverpool will have to pay Charlton £250,000 if Joe Gomez continues to star for England after he made his full England debut against Brazil.

Gomez was left satisfied with his debut, telling ITV after the game: "We put in a good shift and we're happy with that. It's a great honour, I'll keep trying to improve and hopefully more of these days will come."

Two years ago, Liverpool bought Gomez from the south London club for a bargain £3.5million. The deal included a clause for a further quarter of a million pounds, should Gomez start for the national side in a competitive fixture.

And while that clause wasn't triggered on Tuesday evening when the 20-year-old played the full 90 minutes during England's 0-0 draw at Wembley, it will be should he start any game for Gareth Southgate's side in Russia next summer.
