Liverpool boosted on their quest to land amazing Serie A midfielder

Liverpool are reportedly showing interest on Nicolo  Barella

Lfc rumourNicolo Brella plays for Seire A club Cagliari Calcio. He helped Italy finish in third place in the under-21 World Cup last year and also made his way into the senior squad last year.

According to sport journalist Tancredi Palmeri, both Liverpool and Tottenham have scouted Barella.

Palmeri told Love Sport Radio “I believe they both [Liverpool and Tottenham] are scouting him. He is the next big thing of Italian midfield.

“After the great performance he gave against Milan last Sunday when Cagliari drew with them, many were wondering ‘how could it be that no Italian team has [taken him] away during the summer?’. Well, it’s because Cagliari were asking no less than 40 million Euros, which is a price I believe will keep growing.

“There is always obviously an issue with Italian midfielders who go to play in the Premier League because sometimes they bring better quality but they don’t have the pace that the Premier League requests.

“I have to say if I were a player, it would be a dream to be plaster in the hands of Klopp. If someone can be good, he can be good with Klopp.

“But remember when Immobile, the centre forward of Lazio now but previously was top-scorer in Serie A [with Torino], moved to Borussia Dortmund and Klopp didn’t play him because he wasn’t good enough for the pace that he wanted - and Klopp was right. He’s got the quality. The pace is something that the manager will work on.”

Both AC Milan and Inter Milan are keen on Barella but the midfielder has preferred a move to the Premier League.

Barella, 21, last week revealed his desire to play in the English Premier League, handing Liverpool the upper hand when he spoke about LeBron James who is shareholder with the Reds.

“Cagliari received offers and turned them down. I am happy to have remained with the club I support," he told Gazzetta dello Sport last week.

“If I had to choose between Serie A and the Premier League, I’d go for England, because I like the way they approach the game. Plus everyone there is just as irritable and prone to fouls as me!

“My dream is to get a nice house with a garden and a pool. And to meet LeBron James.”
