Jurgen Klopp give reasons why he allowed Roberto Firmino play from the bench
During the international break Firmino encountered a full 90minute display with Brazil as they beat Argentina 1-0 as part of their tour of the Middle East in Saudi Arabia last week.
Klopp decides to start with Daniel Sturridge instead, letting Firmino warm the bench for 77 minutes before coming on as a sub.
"The Brazilians came back on Thursday," said Klopp.
"Bobby (Firmino) played 90 minutes so it was clear maybe we should not do it this time.
"Daniel could start as he has not had too many starts this season."
