Sadio Mane drops huge Virgil van Dijk transfer claim

Sadio Mane is convinced Virgil van Dijk was not overpriced by Southampton

Lfc rumour
Liverpool signed Van Dijk from Southampton on a record transfer fee of £75million in January but the deal now seems to be a masterpiece with the Dutch star being able to marshal the Reds defence to be one of the best in Europe at the moment.

Manchester City defeat to Crystal Palace during the weekend means Jurgen Klopp's men are now four point clear at top of the league table after their 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday.

During the clash with the Wolves Virgil van Dijk scored his first Premier League goal for the Reds as they remain unbeaten throughout the campaign conceding just 7 goals.

And Sadio Mane has hailed the Dutch defender for his influence.

"It's been a big, big impact. We've all seen it," Mane said.

"Of course at the time he signed people were thinking that the club had over-paid for Virgil.

"But since then everyone has forgotten about the fee because his form has been so good.

"He's done such a great job for us back there. I am so happy to have him as a team-mate.

"He's one of the leaders. You can see it in every single game.

"He has proved he's one of the best defenders in the world."
