Jurgen Klopp told to get rid of one Liverpool star if his side will be league winner this season

Liverpool came through their first Premier League defeat at the Etihad on Thursday evening after goals from Sergio Aguero and Leroy Sane secured a 2-1 victory for the Citizens.

The victory now saw City four points behind the league leaders that failed on their chance to put themselves 10 points clear during the game.

And Former Newcastle striker Micky Quinn thinks the Reds will suffer more defeat if Jurgen Klopp continues to favour Dejan Lovren in the team line-up.


"The best team won on the night," Quinn said on talkSPORT.

"I think Jurgen Klopp got it wrong tactically with those three midfield players.

"At the very highest level that midfield won't win anything, and with Lovren at the back they won't win anything either.

"He might have been in the World Cup final, but he wouldn't be in my Liverpool team.

"Virgil Van Dijk must have got him out of trouble about seven or eight times last night, covering for him.


"Even in the last seconds I nearly put my head through the television, because he kept making mistakes under no pressure, and that just sums him up."
