Jurgen Klopp open up on signing Jadon Sancho

The Liverpool boss have spoken out amid speculations of the England international moving to Anfield in January

Sancho continued to be linked with a move to Anfield this term and with less than a month left to the January transfer window, Liverpool have been tipped favorite for the England winger.

Speculation of the 19-year-old moving to Anfield was heated up last month after reports claimed the former Manchester City player is eager to leave Borussia Dortmund as he's unhappy with life at the Bundesliga club.

Sancho was hit with a fine of €100,000 by Dortmund manager Lucien Favre  after returning to the club late from international duty back in October. He was further served a match ban by Favre as his punishment for not being punctual.

It is believed Sancho will leave Dortmund in January with Liverpool being tipped as favourite to land him.

However, Klopp kept his counsel when asked about a possible deal for the Englishman.

"He's a very good player," the German said of Sancho ahead of Wednesday's Merseyside derby against Everton.

"I have no clue where these kind of things [the rumours] are coming from, but it cannot come from us because we never speak about it.

"Cost? That’s one issue, 100 per cent that would be an issue. But there’s nothing to say about it.

"I know how it sounds, but I cannot change that. There’s nothing to say about it, which can mean there’s absolutely nothing to say about it."

Sancho has been in a fine form so far this season for Dortmund scoring five goals and setting another seven despite problem with the club.
