Liverpool FA Cup replay date and Jurgen Klopp's reaction

Liverpool FA Cup replay against Shrewsbury to take place days after Southampton clash as Jurgen Klopp expects to snub his managing role for the match

Lfc rumour
The Reds will face League One minnows Shrewsbury Town in their FA Cup fourth-round replay which has been scheduled for Tuesday, February 4.

A Liverpool side studded with mostly youngsters  threw away a two-goal lead against the Shrews at Montgomery Waters Meadow in the first leg to set up a replay at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp was heavily criticised for announcing he will not manage Liverpool  and will field his Under-23s for the replay - on his post match conference after the draw.

In the face of the backlashes, the Liverpool manager has doubled down on his decision, saying: "If we react how we always react and find a way to do it, then nothing will change. I decided three weeks ago we would have a mid-season break based on a letter we got in April 2019."

"I don't want to be in the middle of all these discussions. I'm not a revolution guy who want to show the whole world how strong I can be. It's absolutely not the reason.

"The only responsibility I feel is for my players and, to be 100 per cent honest, for all the players as well. If we find a way to do it then nothing will change and I think all people in football agree that all things need to change."
