The Brazilian who joined Arsenal in a £6million deal last summer has managed to make it to the limelight at the Emirate with 10 goals in all competition this season.

The former Ituaro star netted twice against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup last year as the Gunners were dumped out on penalties following a 5-5 draw.

Jurgen Klopp spoke highly of Martinelli, regarding him in the highest of ranks after the domestic cup match in November.

"Martinelli’s pretty much the same age but he's a talent of the century, he's an incredible striker, so it's really difficult," the German said.

Unai Emery was shown the door out of the Emirate a month after the defeat and since then Martinelli has established himself as a regular player under his successor Mikel Arteta.

Reflecting on Jurgen Klopp's comment in an interview with marca, and how it felt to hear one of the world’s most revered managers lauding him.

Martinelli said:"I feel very proud that one of the best tacticians in the world speaks well of me.

"Now I have to remain firm, focused and continue working to achieve greater things."
