Memphis Depay has been the subject of a proposed Liverpool transfer in recent months but an unbelievable revelation about his Dutch national team mates joining Liverpool could now mean the 26-year-old has no desire to play for the Reds.

Speaking in Dutch, in rap video about Virgil van Dijk, the 26-year-old says: "It is on.

"Captain of the nation, What move will he make? And I didn't forget, The days in the rain. He is a leader, woah. He is the boss on the field.

"He comes in with corners. Header, With great force, woah. He doesn't take anything from anyone, just money. Van Dijk, he is everyone's Dutch hero. Van Dijk, watch out, he strikes.

"You know, we don't lie, Dutchman, he is fly. Van Dijk, man. I wish you signed man, not for Liverpool, but for Man United."

Depay arrived at Old Trafford in 2015 after an impressive, title-winning season at PSV Eindhoven.

But the forward was not able to hit the same heights, with just seven goals before heading to Lyon in January 2017.

After an unsuccessful spell at Manchester United, Depay in over three-and-a-half seasons of his stay at Lyon has hit 53 goals in 134 appearances.
