Detailed look at the Reds’ latest Premier League result under Andoni Iraola
Liverpool were held to a 0-0 draw by Fulham at Anfield on Saturday, bringing an end to a week in which the Reds had recorded their first Premier League victory of the season and secured a positive Champions League result against Atlético Madrid.
The point leaves the Reds unbeaten after their opening four Premier League matches under Andoni Iraola, but the result also highlighted some of the areas that still require improvement.
Liverpool began their league campaign with consecutive 2-2 draws against Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest before finally getting their first victory at Ipswich Town.
That 2-0 win at Ipswich offered signs of progress. Alexander Isak scored both goals, while Cody Gakpo provided the assists for each, and Liverpool also kept their first Premier League clean sheet of the campaign.
The Reds were therefore expected to carry that momentum into their meeting with Fulham, particularly with the match being played at Anfield.
Liverpool struggle to find a breakthrough
Instead, Fulham produced a disciplined performance and made life difficult for the hosts.
Liverpool had periods of control and worked to move the visitors' defensive structure, but they were unable to consistently create the type of clear chances required to take the lead.
Victor Muñoz came closest for Liverpool with a header that was saved by Bernd Leno, while Alexander Isak also had an opportunity late in the match.

The front line also needs greater efficiency.
Isak has already shown his quality with three goals in his first four Premier League appearances, while Gakpo has made a positive contribution as both a scorer and creator. But Liverpool cannot rely on individual moments every week. The team's overall attacking structure has to consistently produce opportunities.
A point rather than a crisis
There is no need to overstate the significance of the result.
Liverpool remain unbeaten in the league, and the season is still in its early stages. Iraola is also working with a squad that has undergone significant changes, meaning consistency will naturally take time to develop.
At the same time, the dropped points against Fulham cannot simply be ignored.
Liverpool had an opportunity to follow up their victory at Ipswich with another three points at home. Instead, they were held by a Fulham side that defended with discipline and created enough problems to earn their point.
The challenge for Iraola will be to ensure Liverpool learn from matches like this without losing the positive aspects of their recent performances.
The victory at Ipswich showed that the team can combine attacking efficiency with defensive solidity. The draw with Fulham showed that there are still occasions when Liverpool struggle to turn control into clear chances and goals.
Liverpool's next test
Liverpool will now turn their attention to their next Premier League fixture, an away trip to Bournemouth on September 20.
By then, Iraola will hope his side can build on the positive elements from the opening weeks while addressing the lack of consistency that has contributed to three draws from four league matches.
For Liverpool, the 0-0 draw with Fulham is best viewed as another early-season lesson rather than a defining result.
The Reds remain unbeaten, but the next stage of their development will be about turning performances into victories more regularly.
