Liverpool could reportedly sell three players this summer to boost finances amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Athletic claims a senior source at Anfield has revealed that no major signings will be made this summer if the current financial crisis amid the coronavirus pandemic continues.

However, it may be possible to dig out some funds if three players are given a new home.

There is uncertainty on whether this summer transfer window will be active due to the ongoing global pandemic.

It is understood Liverpool have had plans to make one or more signing this summer with RB Leipzig striker Timo Wener being tipped to make a £50m switch.

According to the Athletic Liverpool are hoping to offload £30m for Xherdan Shaqiri, who has been on the fringes of the first team.

Switzerland international and former Stoke ace Xherdan Shaqiri had loan enquiries from Spanish side Sevilla and Italian outfit Roma turned down in January.

The Athletic also claimed the Reds are hoping offers arrive for current on-loan duo Harry Wilson and Marko Grujic.

Wilson has impressed during his time at Bournemouth this season but his future on Merseyside is in doubt.Grujic has spent this year with Hertha Berlin and Liverpool were hoping to receive £40m for the pair.

Given the financial impact of the coronavirus their valuation may not be met.
