The professional football referee, who officiates in the Premier League , has grown out his beard during recent months and it took the Liverpool manager by surprise.
Jurgen Klopp who's is also known for keeping beards chose the moniker of Santa Claus for Dean ahead of the Merseyside derby at the weekend, which ended in an uneventful 0-0 draw.

The Liverpool manager and Dean once again crossed paths during the Reds’ 4-0 win over Crystal Palace on Wednesday, during which refree Dean was an assistant to Martin Atkinson.
During the game at Anfield, legendary Sky Sports commentator Martin Tyler revealed what Klopp had branded the 52-year-old last week.
"Can't see under that mask if Mike Dean has shaved his beard off," Tyler said during the coverage.
"He took charge of the Merseyside derby and Jurgen Klopp, I'm told, called him Father Christmas."
