Thiago Alcantara could be sidelined in Liverpool's opening Champions League group game against Ajax
The Spain international who suffered a knee injury after a reckless challenge from Everton attacker Richarlison in the Merseyside derby is expected to stay sideline for over a week, although result of his scan is yet to be released.
The Reds trip to Ajax is scheduled for Tuesday and Thiago wouldn't be involved, apparently.
It's understood that the former Bayern Munich player has not suffered a serious blow but could still take an acceptable period of time before he returns to action.
