Neil Young and his Marine side are through to third round of the FA Cup for the first time in 28 years and demands draw with Liverpool

Marine qualifies for the FA Cup third round for the first time in 28 years.

Marine manager Neil Young is thirsty for a FA Cup third round tie with Liverpool after overcoming Havant & Waterlooville on Sunday.

Captain Niall Cummins' late winner sparked wild celebrations in Crosby as the eighth-tier outfit reached the third round of the competition for the first time in 28 years.

After the game Neil Young was asked who he do love to face in the third round, in response the club manager said: "If you had a choice, which you haven't, for me, being a Liverpool fan, it's Liverpool away.

"But tonight let's let it sink in. The draw is tomorrow and I believe it could be hosted [at Marine] from what I've just heard.

"From our club perspective, who would have ever thought it?

"The third round draw is the biggest draw of the lot because that's when the Premier League and Championship teams come in and the non-league teams are still knocking about.

"So yeah, for me, it's Liverpool away. But we'd have to take people with us to brick the goals up or put the bus on the pitch!"
