Massive news as Virgil van Dijk step up comeback but Klopp expresses trepidation

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has said he in regular contact with Virgil van Dijk and stressed that things are OK with the Dutchman

Virgil van Dijk ruptured his ACL in the Merseyside derby back in October when he was clattered by Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

He has since had surgery on his knee although there's still no time frame on when the ace defender will be back in action.

Klopp was asked about the 2019 Ballon d'Or runner-up in his Monday press conference and provided a rather relieving response as he maintained 'player is doing well' on his rehab.

“Yes, of course we are in contact. Considering the circumstances, he's doing really well.

"His knee doesn’t look good, to be honest; it doesn’t look like a knee should look - but it looks good for a knee with that surgery and the time he had since the surgery.

"So, yes, of course we are in contact and he's doing well, that's true."
