Former Liverpool U23 coach wants Jurgen Klopp FA Cup test

Former Liverpool Un23 coach Neil Critchley want to battle it out with Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool side in the FA Cup fourth round

Critchley's Blackpool side upset Premier League struggling West Bromwich on Saturday after holding the Baggies to a 2-2 draw and stealing the show on penalty shootouts.

It was the first time Blackpool had beaten a top-flight opposition in the competition since 1976.

And it's  a huge one for Critchley who joined the Bloomfield Road outfit in March 2020 after spending six-and-a-half year with Liverpool's lower ranks.

Asked who he wanted his side to be drawn against in the FA Cup fourth round on Monday, Critchley replied: "Liverpool."

On knocking out Sam Allardyce led West Bromwich, Critchley added: “It’s a great day for us, for the club and the supporters.

"We went toe-to-toe with Premier League opposition and more than matched them for entirety of the game.

"I couldn't be happier with all the boys, from the goalkeeper to the subs who came on - everyone contributed for us.

"We've not had a great record in penalty shoot-outs this season, so it's nice to win one."
