Liverpool near agreement for defender exit despite injury crisis

Liverpool are closer to agreeing a deal for young defender Sepp van den Berg to leave club on loan this month

According to the Liverpool Echo, the Reds have received interest from three clubs for the 19-year-old, who signed in a £1.3million deal from PEC Zwolle in the summer of 2019.

The report also claims that the Premier  League champions are happy to let the centre-half leave in pursuit of regular senior football despite  injury crisis at centre-back.

Van den Berg has only a total four senior appearances for Liverpool since joining from Holland. The teenager has instead been involved with the under-23s, making two outings in the EFL Trophy this season.
