Joe Gomez puts Liverpool on exit alert as Reds eye free transfer for Chelsea star

Joe Gomez is concerned about his lack of playing time at Liverpool, according to reports

The 24-year-old has found himself down the pecking order since returning from a serious knee injury he sustained while away on England duty in November.

Virgil van Dijk is a certainty in the heart of the Liverpool defence and Ibrahima Konate’s arrival at the club has added competition for Gomez with Joel Matip performing superbly so far this season.

With the World Cup approaching in just over a year time, Gomez wants more playing time to push himself back into the England squad.

Recent reports have had it that Liverpool are monitoring Rudiger contract situation at Chelsea while keeping tabs on Torino's Gleison Bremer.

With the Reds appearing to be targeting another centre-back player Gomez could be counting on a move in January to sustain his World Cup squad bid.

Gomez has made only seven appearances in all competitions for Liverpool so far this season, coming in as a substitute in four, twice in the Premier League and Champions League respectively.
