Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane: Liverpool sent warning over 'obvious danger'

Gabriel Agbonlahor has insisted how Liverpool deal without Salah and Mane will be crucial to their hopes of lifting the Premier  League title in May

Liverpool are currently second in the Premier League table thanks to Divock Origi’s injury-time winner against Wolves, and are just a point behind leaders Manchester City.

However, the Reds will lose two thirds of their sensational front three next month when Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane leave for the African Cup of Nations.

Former Aston Villa striker Agbonlahor foresees the danger of the Reds missing out on the title if they fail to go into the market and add to their attacking options.

“You can’t lose Salah and Mane for four to six games, when you’ve got the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City who have got so much squad depth and can bring quality players into their team. He told talkSPORT.

"You look at Jota, fantastic player but Firmino has had his injury worries, Origi when he starts is not really the same player as when he comes on as a sub.

"They've got problems there, Jurgen Klopp might have someone lined up already.

"Look at how many games Salah has won on his own, some of the assists the goals he's scored, taking that out of that Liverpool team and to take Mane out of it as well teams aren’t going to be as scared.

"They're not going to give Minamino as much respect, Origi, Chamberlain, these players.

"Liverpool have got leaders in that team to maybe find a way to win these games, but for me it’s going to be a worry to lose so many goals for four to six games."

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have scored a combined 28 goals so far this season and have also registered seven assists between them. Their attacking threat will be sorely missed by Klopp's side.

Yet they could miss just two Premier League games when AFCON gets underway.

And, it remains to be seen if the club will go into the market with the African Cup of Nations due to conclude on February 6.
