Liverpool handed transfer advantage amid Mane and Salah Afcon departure

Liverpool have once again been linked with Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele

This time, Spanish outlets are claiming contract negotiations between the 24-year-old and Barcelona have broken down and he could be available on a free transfer in the summer.

El Nacional has suggested Liverpool could pay a 'small fee' in January for Dembele, given Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane's departure for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Barcelona's sporting director Mateu Alemany issued an update on Monday regarding Dembele's future at the club.

"There's no meeting scheduled with Ousmane Dembele and his agent," he said, as relayed by Fabrizio Romano. "They know our position and our decision.

"We can't take it too long. We're waiting for Ousmane Dembele final answer to our proposal"
