Liverpool closing in on Darwin Nunez

Liverpool have reached personal terms to sign Benfica striker Darwin Nunez

The Reds have reportedly agreed a contract term with the player ahead of a potential move this summer.

Nunez is currently one of the most sought-after goalscorers in Europe. With 31 goals and 4 assists already bagged this season, the 22-year-old has caught the attention of top European sides including Premier League clubs , Arsenal Tottenham, Manchester United and City.

But a close source has disclosed that Jorge Mendes the agent of the prolific goalscorer has been turning down offers from suitors as per his client's interest.

According to the source, Nunez is keen for a move to Liverpool and verbal terms have been agreed on the basis that the Merseyside club wants to double his current wages in a four-year deal.

The Uruguayan is currently within a £30k per week wages meaning a move to Liverpool would put him around £70k.
