Sadio Mane's agent responds to poor Liverpool treatment claims

Sadio Mane didn't leave Liverpool because of a 'low wage' according to his PR agent

Bacary Cisse, Mane's agent has slammed rumours his client left Liverpool because his wages were 'too low'. Some reports recently claimed that the winger left for Bayern Munich because of his contract, but that has now been dismissed.

With much of the talk last season surrounding the situation with Mohamed Salah and his contract at Liverpool entering the final year, Mane's own situation was put on the back burner until just before the Champions League final against Real Madrid."

With a move now completed to Bayern Munich in a deal that could be worth up to £34million, Mane's six year stay at Liverpool is over and a Ballon d'Or win come the end of the year could be well within reach.

When talking to TV5Monde , Cisse said when asked about the rumours surrounding Mane's Liverpool wage being 'too low': "Those are false rumours. We didn't want to talk about that. A player of Sadio's caliber can't be earning the salary that people are speaking about. The numbers circulating are completely wrong.

"Sadio was already earning more than that when he joined Liverpool from Southampton. He extended his contract in 2018 and his salary was much higher than the numbers circulating in the media."

After being a huge part of the Liverpool side that brought home the FA Cup and League Cup while reaching the final of the Champions League and finished one point behind Premier League winners Manchester City, Mane is in with a shout of winning the Ballon d'Or. Especially given Senegal lifted the Africa Cup of Nations.

"Sadio does not want to talk too much about that. It's an individual award that players want to win. If it comes, so be it, but if it doesn't, Sadio will continue to play his football and go his way."
