There were mixed reactions from Liverpool fans about teenager Isaac Mabaya after Wednesday pre-season lost to RB Salzburg.

The Liverpool righ-back who played in the first 45 minutes for the Reds made an impression some Liverpool fans think is worthy for a senior-team place next season beside Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Whereas Liverpool new signing Calvin Ramsay who is yet to feature for the club is deemed already-selected for the position.

Mabaya has thus far relished the prospect of playing more games under Jurgen Klopp next season, he told Liverpoolfc.com after the Reds's 1-0 lost to RB Salzburg: "It was definitely a tough game against a good side, but it was good to get the minutes that I got tonight. We had our fair share of chances, but sometimes it just doesn't go our way. Honestly, I loved it.

I always love stepping out on the pitch for Liverpool, so I just want to keep getting my opportunities to do that [and] hopefully [I will] in the future."
